System Architecture Overview

The MineLink Fleet Management System Architecture as shown below consists of two (2) main servers and the onboard field equipment units. A wireless network (MineComms) is required as the communications backbone between the servers and the onboard equipment.

The primarly reason for standardizing with two (2) main servers is to provide system data redundancy if one of the servers fails. The second server also serves as the main reporting server where all of the reports and production KPI dashboards are housed.

The system has a unique automatic fallback, so that if the primary server fails, then the secondary server will automatically activate with minimum intervention from the system administrator. This provides a system with low system administrator involvement, while at the same time having very high data security and very high system up.

The Main System Components

MineComms Wireless Cloud Network

MineComms is a high capacity, low latency 802.11n WiFi Cloud network that communicates with MineLink Mobile and site manager or supervisor via laptops and tablets.

MineLink Mobile

MineLink Mobile is the onboard software is installed on the onboard computer on each of the mine units. MineLink Mobile has its own onboard complete real-time high capacity database software storing all of the operations data in real-time onboard each unit and includes a highly configurable rich GUI (Graphical User Interface) for clear operator visualization and operability. MineLink Mobile screens can be configured for any language.

MineLink Application Server

This is the main MineLink server that accepts and stores all of the information from all of the MineLink Mobile onboard units across the entire mine site. The main software components which reside on the main MineLink Server consist of:

  1. Microsoft SQL Database
  2. Microsoft Synchronization and Web Services
  3. Reporting Services

There are two (2) Microsoft Windows servers: The primary and secondary servers. The database is automatically replicated from the primary to the secondary server in real-time to make sure the secondary server has the most current and up-to-date information available. The secondary server is always ready to take over from the primary server in case there is a fault or problem. The secondary server also acts as the reporting server for all of the standard MineView reports.

MineView Reports and Dashboard

This is an optional reporting server for reporting purposes which the customer has the option to install. MineLink provides an open database connection and database replication options such as mirrorring, log shipping or merge replication.

The Dispatchers computers are where the MineDispatch software runs and operates. MineDispatch is the software application used to manage and configure the system and mine fleet operations.
